Dezart Performs

THE GARBOLOGISTS

The acclaimed new comedy-drama by Lindsay Joelle

This unconventional buddy comedy follows first-time Black sanitation worker Marlowe and white “mansplainer” Danny in the cab of a garbage truck in New York City. They spend their shifts bickering, but as they pick up what the world has discarded, they learn that some things are easier to toss than others. Honoring our essential workers, THE GARBOLOGISTS is a hopeful story about finding common ground in uncommon times.

Directed by Michael Shaw

[Michael] Shaw has proven time and again that he knows how to elevate the comedy in a script. The Garbologists is no exception.

-Kay Kudukis, Broadway World

It an unusual play, and the packed room appreciated it on its opening night. Playwright Lindsay Joelle loves to present lives seldom seen in American theater, and this play certainly demonstrates that.

-VJ Hume, CV Independent

Michael Shaw has directed the two performers with his usual insightful style giving the more dramatic surprises the space they need to score while keeping things moving.

-Stephen Radosh, Gay Desert Guide
