Dezart Performs

FAT HAM

The 2022 Pulitzer Prize Winner and Five-time Tony-Nominated Dramatic Comedy by James Ijames

Note: Tickets now added for select performances. Please call the box office for availability.

In this delectably comic, Pulitzer Prize-winning reinvention of Shakespeare’s Hamlet, an uproarious family barbecue instigates a compelling examination of love and loss, pain and joy. FAT HAM is about a Black, queer discovery of self, softness, and resilience. Your typical Southern family cookout just got anything but. Juicy gets a visit from his father’s ghost seeking revenge for his death by his brother – now married to his mother! Sound familiar? This Pulitzer Prize winner is as profound as it is funny. Pass the napkins because things are about to get messy…
