Every Brilliant Thing
by Duncan Macmillan, with Jonny Donahoe
POSTPONED UNTIL 2020/2021 Season
This solo performance is the journey of a young boy’s attempts to ease his mother’s depression. Upon learning that his mom is in the hospital and that she’s “done something stupid and finds it hard to be happy,” he starts to make a list of everything that’s brilliant about the world. Everything that’s worth living for. 1. Ice Cream. 2. Water fights. 3. Staying up past your bedtime and being allowed to watch TV. He knows she’s read it because she’s corrected his spelling. Soon, the list takes on a life of its own.
