Dezart Performs

The Legend of Georgia McBride

THE LEGEND OF GEORGIA McBRIDE centers on the main character, Casey, an Elvis impersonator in a run-down, small-town Florida bar. He’s young, broke and his wife is going to have a baby. But to make matters even more desperate, he’s fired from his gig and the bar owner brings in a B-level drag show to replace him. Casey finds that he has a whole lot to learn about show business and himself. THE LEGEND OF GEORGIA McBRIDE was a New York Times Critic’s Pick: “A stitch-in-your-side new comedy… full of sass and good spirits!”

The role of Casey is played by Sean Timothy Brown who returns to Dezart Performs’ stage in THE LEGEND OF GEORGIA MCBRIDE after performing in Dezart Performs’ critically-acclaimed production of CLYBOURNE PARK last winter. Brown began his acting under the tutelage of Rosemary Mallett at Palm Springs High School and still lives in Palm Springs with his wife, Jen and their baby daughter, Ella.

Other cast members include: Michael Mullen as Tracy; Hanz Enyeart as Rexy; Brianna Maloney as Casey’s wife, Jo; and Chet Cole as Eddie.

'GEORGIA McBRIDE' does have a warm and gentle heart and enough bitchy one liners, musical numbers and jokes to keep it airborne and make it a real audience pleaser!
